The Mapping Window

When you open a plan it is displayed in the Mapping Window. The Mapping Window comprises the following elements:

Map Display

The date the plan was last modified and the survey date are shown to the left, above the map.

The plan scale is shown to the right, below the map. You can use the View Scale box to zoom to a preset scale or to zoom to a scale you specify.

You can use the pan and zoom controls in the top left corner of the plan to move around the plan and change scale.

If there is more than one floor shown on the plan (a purpose built shopping centre for example) then use the tabs at the bottom of the plan to switch between floors. Individual outlets with more than one floor, such as department stores, are not shown on the floor tabs, unless they are located within a shopping centre.

Tools Panel

Expand and contract the Tools panel to the left of the plan by clicking on the header.

You can use the buttons in the Tools panel to move around the plan and change scale. The Tools panel also enables you to search for, select and colour outlets and display the selection table. You can also show information for individual selected outlets. A tooltip describing each of the Tools buttons is displayed when the cursor is placed over the button.

A brief description of each of the buttons in the Tools panel is given in the table below. Use the links for further details about how to use them.
