Creating a Print

To print a plan you must create a PDF version. The default print scale is 1:1000. Once saved the PDF file can be printed.

Note: Users of clients who can generate output at scales other than 1:1000 can use the zoom tools on the print preparation page to change scale.

To save a plan in PDF format:

  1. Click the Create a Print heading in the panel to the left of the plan to expand the panel. The Print Preparation window is displayed.
  2. Choose a template. All the pre-defined templates available to you are listed in the drop down template box in the panel to the left of the plan. Select the one you require.

The screen is automatically refreshed to display the template you select.

New standard templates (available to all users) may be created and existing ones edited by a Client Administrator and level 3 users. Speak to your Administrator if you are not a level 3 user and require template changes.

  3. The precise part of the plan that will appear on the PDF file is shown on screen. Use the pan tool to reposition the plan and the Create a Print panel tools to add extra elements, such as text boxes, image boxes, inset plans, lines or a legend to your output. You can also edit the existing elements.

Level 2/3 users may save a template created using the Create a Print tools. For level 2 users the template is a personal one associated only with this plan only. Level 3 users can also save client templates available to all users for all plans.

  4. Click Print in the Create a Print panel. The Save As screen is displayed.
  5. Locate the folder where you want to save the plan using the drop down menu and enter a name in the file name box. Click Save. The status of the file processing is shown at the bottom right of the screen. The status shows as Download Complete when the file has been created. The file is saved in the chosen location with the name you have specified. It is also stored in the download list (Download tab) for a limited period of time should you need to retrieve another copy.
