Selecting and Changing Elements
The elements of a pdf output can be selected and changed.
Note: For some elements (e.g. scale bar, copyright) the changes you can make are restricted.
To select an element:
- Click the element on the print preparation page.
A selected text, image, legend, inset map, Goad photo or plan element is identified by a red border.

A selected arrow, polyline or polygon element is identified by displaying purple nodes at the ends of each line segment.

To move an element:
- Click the grey title bar of a text, image, legend, inset map, Goad photo or plan element and drag it to the new location.
Or
Click a line segment belonging to an arrow, polyline or polygon element and drag it to the desired location.
To delete an element:
- Click the element to select it.
- Click
in the title bar (top right corner of page for arrow, polyline or polygon element) of the element.
- Confirm that you do want to delete it.
To edit an element:
- Click the element to select it.
- Click
in the title bar (top right corner of page for arrow, polyline or polygon element) of the element. The properties screen appropriate to the type of element is shown.
- Make the changes you require and click OK. The changes are made immediately.
To resize an element:
- Click the resize handle at the bottom right corner of a text, image, legend, inset map, Goad photo or plan element and drag until you reach the size you want. The size in mm is displayed as you resize.

Click a node belonging to an arrow, polyline or polygon element and drag it to the desired location. Repeat for each node until the element is the size and shape you want.
To clone an element:
- Click the element to select it.
- Click
in the title bar of the element (top right hand corner of page for arrow, polyline or polygon element). A copy of the element is made.
To change the order of an element:
- Click the element to select it.
- To bring the element to the front to ensure it displays on top of other elements, click
in its title bar (top right hand corner of page for arrow, polyline or polygon element).
- To send the element to the back to ensure it is behind other elements, click
in its title bar (top right hand corner of page for arrow, polyline or polygon element).
