Finding Help Topics

You can use:

• A Table of Contents tab () to find and display a topic within the content structure of this Help system.
• An Index tab () to search this Help system using keywords that have been assigned to one or more topics by the Help author. Keywords may be actual words that appear in the topic text or synonyms that are relevant to the content of the topic. Topics are usually indexed under more than one keyword, and a keyword can be assigned to more than one topic.
• A Search tab () to do a free-text search (FTS) of this Help system using a single word or multiple words. It is important to recognize that this is not a full-text search. Certain common words, such as conjunctions, are not included in the FTS database to optimize the performance of the search and because they are unnecessary.
• A Related Topics list of hyperlinks to topics associated with the current Help topic.

Note: Whichever method you use to display a Help topic, the Table of Contents tab automatically synchronises to the topic that is displayed. This lets you see just exactly where you are in the content structure of this Help system. A vertical blue bar is displayed next to the topic in the Table of Contents that is currently displayed .

To find a Help topic using the Table of Contents tab:

1. Click the Table of Contents tab ().
2. Click the closed icon you want to open. An open icon is displayed and the contents of the section's - topics () and other sections - are displayed.
3. To display a topic, click the required topic title.

To find a Help topic using the Index tab:

1. Click the Index tab (). All keywords from 0 to 9 and A to Z are displayed in the list.
2. Enter a keyword or scroll through the list of keywords. As you enter a word, the list automatically scrolls to that alphanumeric position.
3. To display a topic, click the required index entry.

   If there is only one topic associated with the keyword, the topic is immediately displayed.

   -or-

   If two or more topics are associated with the keyword, the titles are displayed in the list. If this happens, click the required topic title from the list.

To find a Help topic using the Search tab:

1. Click the Search tab (). The controls are displayed to let you do the search.
2. In the edit box at the top of the navigation pane, enter the search word(s) you want to find and then press return. The titles of any matching topics are displayed in the list below the search box.
3. To display a topic, click the associated topic title.

To find a Help topic using the top right-hand Search box:

1. In the edit box at the top-right Serach box (), enter the search word(s) you want to find and then press return. The Search tab () is automatically selected in the Navigation pane, and the titles of any matching topics are displayed in the list below the search box.
2. To display a topic, click the associated topic title.

To find a Help topic using the Related Topics list:

1. From the current Help topic, click on the required link under the Related Topics heading.
