Creating and Deleting Templates (Level 2/3 Users only)

All aspects of the page layout of a printed plan and its associated elements, such as legend, text boxes and image boxes, may be saved as a template. Changes to existing templates may be saved or new ones created. If you are a level 2 user you can save personal templates which are associated with the individual plan and available only to yourself. For level 3 users there is also the option to save client templates which are available to all users for all plans.

Note: You must open a plan and click the Create a Print heading in the panel to the left of the plan to display the print preparation window before you can create a template.

To save changes to an existing template:

  1. Select the template from the drop down template box in the panel to the left of the plan. Level 2 users will only be able to save changes to a personal template and no changes are permitted to the base templates.
  2. Use the pan tool to reposition the plan and the Create a Print panel tools to add extra elements, such as text boxes, image boxes, inset plans, lines or a legend to your output. You can also edit the existing elements.
  3. Click Save edits to current template tool.

To create a new personal template:

  1. Select the most appropriate starting template from the drop down template box in the panel to the left of the plan.
  2. Use the pan tool to reposition the plan and the Create a Print panel tools to add extra elements, such as text boxes, image boxes, inset plans, lines or a legend to your output. You can also edit the existing elements.
  3. Click Save template as personal tool.
  4. Enter a name for the template and click Save.

To create a new client template (level 3 users only):

  1. Select the most appropriate starting template from the drop down template box in the panel to the left of the plan.
  2. Use the pan tool to reposition the plan and the Create a Print panel tools to add extra elements, such as text boxes, image boxes, inset plans, lines or a legend to your output. You can also edit the existing elements.
  3. Click Save template as client tool.
  4. Enter a name for the template and click Save.

To delete a template:

  1. Select the template from the drop down template box in the panel to the left of the plan. Base templates may not be deleted.
  2. Click Delete current template tool and confirm that you do want to delete the template.
